Holy, Holy, Holy
Faith Walk

Holy, Holy, Holy

I sit on the deck,
the early rays of morning
just beginning
to light on my face
as they shine through
the trees shading me.

As I lift my head heavenward,
praise flows from my heart:

Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God Almighty.
Early in the morning
my song shall rise to Thee.

And I think of where
I now sit
and how very different it is
from my brothers and sisters
the world over
who at this very moment
may be lifting their heads heavenward
and praising the Lord God Almighty, too.

And as I do every morning
as I meet the Lord
in my place of freedom,
I begin to lift up prayers
along with my praises
on behalf of those
who are
praising from underground,
praying while on the run,
shouting hallelujahs
while enduring such suffering
for the sake of His Holy Name.

I wonder why it is
that I am here
and they are there –
our experiences as far apart
as the world that comes between us.

Dear Stacy,
(A greeting from a precious sister
who I have yet to meet,
but who my heart holds tight and dear)
May God bless you and keep you.
Please do pray for Christians worldwide
who are suffering for their faith.
Remember me in your prayers.
I am here “for such a time as this”,
to lead prayer warfare from the front lines.
I trust God to protect me.
Thank you for inspiring me
to keep going on bravely in faith.
God is using you to bless me.~

As I read her words,
deep inside
I know it is my friend
who is the one inspiring me.

A faith so strong.

A dependence on God so desperate.

A walk with her Deliverer
so tangible
as she walks
among the daily
(no doubt sometimes life threatening)
repercussions
of following our precious Savior
boldly and unwaveringly.

Her situation so dire,
and yet,
her faith and love for God
a roaring, unquenchable fire.

Praises ascending to God from me, here.
Praises ascending to God from her, there.

Me praying for her, here.
Her praying for me, there.

Hearts separated by
our locations on this world,
and yet,
because of Jesus –
hearts as close
as the mention of His name.

I sit on the deck,
the early rays of morning
just beginning
to light on my face
as they shine through
the trees shading me.

And, I pray.

Lord God Almighty,
You are the Light of the world
and the darkness can never extinquish You.

Precious Savior,
hear my prayer for my precious sister –
hear my prayer
for all my brothers and sisters
the world over
who are in need
of Your sheltering grace
as they shine brightly Your light.

Guide them and protect them
as they stand strong and unmovable.
Thank you for being their Defender
as they defend Your name
and live unapologetically and
uncompromisingly for You.

Oh, Father God.
It is so clear to see
from where I sit,
from where I live,
from where I walk out my faith,
how You use the very things
that war against our faith
to ignite and fan the flame
even brighter.

May we ever
make Your praise glorious, Father.
For You,
Lord God Almighty,
are worthy of our praise –
no matter where
our praise may ascend to You from.

~Stacy
