Hold Space
“I don’t know what to do, Lord.”
It’s a confession
I have spoken
in my heart –
and oftentimes,
even out loud –
time and time again.
Today,
as I once again
cried out to the Lord,
I felt Him speak
so softly,
and yet so loudly,
to my spirit.
Hold space
for Me
to be God
in your life.
Sometimes,
most times it seems,
the only thing
I really need to do
when I feel
as though I need
to do something
is to step back,
get out of the way,
and stop
doing anything at all.
Stop trying to figure it out.
Stop trying to come up with a plan.
Stop trying to interfere.
Stop trying to manipulate.
Stop trying to control.
Stop trying to do what I think is best.
Stop – period.
To simply,
instead,
do what
God instructed
David to do
so many years ago:
“Be still
and know
that I am God.“
~Psalm 46:10
We pray for God
to guide and lead,
to open and close doors,
to have His way in our life,
to move in ways
only He can
and then,
we somehow think
the next step
is dependent on us.
All we
need to do
is seek God –
the One
who does know –
and let Him do it.
Pray.
Wait.
Trust.
Pray.
Wait.
Trust.
Hold space
for God
to be God
in your life.
