For Such a Time As This
We look around
at the world
we find ourself in
and we wonder
if we,
one person,
could ever
make a difference.
Could we,
one person,
change the
emotional atmosphere
of an emotionally charged
world?
Could we,
one person,
change the
dire and drastic needs
of so many so desperately
in need?
Could we,
one person,
swing the overwhelming,
oftentimes uncontested
sway to evil
back to a sway
toward God?
It all seems
too lost,
too gone,
too much
for one person.
So we often
simply sit back –
doing nothing
and letting
it all
happen.
And if indeed
it was up to us –
up to you alone
or me alone –
we’d be wise
to walk away.
But it isn’t.
It’s not up to just me.
It’s not up to just you.
It’s up to God.
And yet,
He has created
you and me
to come alongside
and to help
usher in
the change
He so longs to bring.
FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS
We are each
in our own way
an Esther –
being called
to risk it all
for the sake of
His calling,
His kingdom,
His purpose.
He has
strategically
and intentional
placed each and every person
at the exact
moment of history
they find
themselves in
to be the
agent of change
for that moment,
for that season,
for that time.
Noah.
Moses.
Daniel.
David.
Elijah.
To name a few others.
Mary.
Peter.
James.
John.
Paul.
To name a few more.
And then
there is
you.
And there is me.
To name a few more.
God + one willing, surrendered person = change
Like those who
have gone before,
it’s up to us to
build the boat,
lead others through the Red Sea,
honor our God in our daily living,
defeat Goliath,
defend God’s name,
birth God’s purposes,
turn the world upside down,
preach the gospel,
be who God
created us to be
and do what
God calls us
to do.
In the power
and the might
of the One
who has called us.
Through the wisdom
and the strength
and the favor
and the anointing
of the One
who is faithful.
You.
Me.
For such a time as this.~
