We Get To
God didn’t
need Moses
in order to
part the Red Sea.
God didn’t
need David
in order to
defeat Goliath.
God didn’t
need Noah
in order to
build the ark.
God didn’t
need Joshua and Caleb
in order to
possess the promised land.
God didn’t
need Joseph
in order to
save millions from famine.
God didn’t
need anyone
to do
all the things
God did
through
Moses,
David,
Noah,
Joshua,
Caleb,
Joseph
and so many more,
but still –
because they
were willing –
He chose
to work
through them.
It’s the same
with you
and the same
with me.
Sometimes
we think
God needs
us
to do
whatever it is
God is calling
us
to do.
And while
the call
does indeed
come from God,
and while
answering the call
does indeed
come from us,
the doing
of the call –
That’s. All. God.
We are simply
and amazingly
a vessel
He chooses
to work through.
Remembering this
does two things.
(Probably more than two,
but these two are
what come to mind.)
1. It takes the pressure off.
God is the one
responsible
for the outcome,
you and I
are simply responsible
for doing our best.
If the outcome is a huge success
or it the outcome doesn’t
turn out the way we
feel it should,
it’s not ours to boast about
or ours to feel bad about.
It’s God’s.
2. It keeps us humble.
Since God is the one
responsible
for the outcome –
we can’t take credit
no matter how many
accolades or
rounds of applause
come our way.
How humbling
that God
chooses to use us
to do what
He could do
completely without us.
How beautiful
that He invites us in
to partner with Him
and to be
His hands and His feet.
What an awesome
honor and privilige.
He doesn’t
need us,
but if we
are willing,
we get to.
We. Get. To.
Praise His holy name.~
