Fully Alive
Gracious Heavenly Father,
As I sit
in the early
and the quiet
of this new day,
my heart begins
to come alive.
To know that You –
who made
the sun
to follow darkness,
are the Light of the World.
To know that You –
who created
human hearts
that wander,
are the Good Shepherd.
To know that You –
who delivered
manna to
Your hungry children,
are the Bread of Life.
To know that You
who know
all things
in all ways,
are The Way, The Truth, and the Life.
To know that You –
who took
the sting
out of death,
are the Resurrection and the Life.
Lord,
How could
my spirit
be anything
but
alive
in and through
Your Spirit?
You who
and me –
alive together.
One.
You are the life in me.
How beautifu
to know
and to remember
that even
on the day
when my
last breath
I take,
still –
with you,
I am alive.
To be alive
and to
experience
this new day,
oh Father God,
how I give You thanks.
For the
generous gift
of these next
never lived before moments,
I give you me –
surrendered,
yielded,
forever indebted
to You.
Take my life-
fully alive
in You and through You
and use me
to lead those
spiritually dead
to new life
in You, too.
In Jesus’ precious name
I pray,
Amen ~
