Humble Me
Gracious Heavenly Father,
Teach me to be humble.
In all ways,
may my actions
and reactions
pour forth
from a place
of humility.
May I not be
easily offended,
but rather easily able
to not offend.
May I not be
consumed with
the treatment I receive,
but rather with
the treatment I give.
May I not think
“what about me?”
but rather
“what about him
or what about her?”
Teach me to be
gracious,
kind,
compassionate,
caring,
forgiving,
meek,
tough-skinned
and yet tender-hearted,
and humble,
oh so very humble, Lord.
For I am
finally realizing
humility
(found only
in and through You)
is the fountain
from which
all the other
Christ-like attributes flow.
In Jesus’ precious name
I pray,
Amen ~
