A True Servant Heart
For the one
with a servant heart . . .
bending over backwards
to serve others,
love others,
do for others
only to have
all you are doing go
unnoticed,
unappreciated,
and “unthanked”.
If you notice
that all you are doing
is going unnoticed,
you might not have
a true servant heart.
I know.
Ouch.
God’s word says
if we are doing
these things
to be seen
or praised
or validated
by people,
then that is all
the reward
we will get –
(if we even get that!)
But,
if we truly
serve
for the sake of serving –
to meet a need,
to uplift,
to help carry a burden,
to make life easier,
to do good works to glorify our Father in Heaven . . .
and we do it
soley to bless
the one we are serving –
nothing more, nothing less –
our Father in Heaven sees!
Our Father in Heaven notices!
Our Father in Heaven
appreciates us
being
His hands and feet
here on earth.
And,
He will reward us.
“Look at me”
servanthood
seeks a reward
and doesn’t always get it,
but true Godly servanthood
seeks no reward
but will always
be rewarded
by the Father.
May our true
motivation
to serve
be to catch
the eye of
our Heavenly Father –
not so He will reward us
(although He will),
but so we can
please His heart
and make Him smile.
